About the Journal
FOCUS AND SCOPE
Our aims is publish original articles, systematic reviews or meta-analysis and communications (letters to the Editor, comments, protocols and editorials). Our Scope is to publish manuscripts for and from researchers and / or professionals that works on areaas related to human movement (physical education, sports, training physical and kinesthetic therapy) and its bonds with well-being (physical, mental, emotional and social) in students of preschool, school and higher education (university, technical, military schools, etc.) and Physical Education teachers.
VISION AND MISSION
Our Vision is to educate and disseminate quality scientific findings swiftly and freely, with an “Open Access” policy.
Our Mission is to meet the standards of the highest-level journals to become a contribution both nationally and internationally in the field of Education and Sciences of Physical Activity and Sport.
PEER REVIEW PROCESS
Article Arbitration: The arbitration system operates under a double-blind review process. All articles will be sent for external peer review (at least 2 specialists in the field). In the event of one acceptance and one rejection, a third party will evaluate and make a decision. However, the Editor will be responsible for the final decision on the acceptance or rejection of the article.
Communication Arbitration: All communications may be evaluated by at least one member of the editorial team, primarily by the Chief Editor who will also be responsible for the final decision on the acceptance or rejection of the communication.
PUBLICATION FREQUENCY
The JMH publishes two issues per year: one covering January to July and the other from July to December.
OPEN ACCESS
This is an open-access journal, which means that all content is freely available to users or their institutions. Users can read, download, copy, distribute, print, search, or link to the full texts of articles or use them for any other lawful purpose without seeking prior permission from the editor or the author. This aligns with the definition of the Budapest Open Access Initiative (BOAI).
HISTORY
The Journal of Movement and Health (JMH) is a scientific journal published by the School of Physical Education at Pontifical Catholic University of Valparaíso in Chile. It was initially published in print format starting from 2001, and later, from 2007, it has been available in digital format. Between the years 2017 and 2019, the journal was temporarily discontinued to reorganize its mission and vision. During this period, it changed its name from “Revista Motricidad Humana” to “Journal of Movement and Health”
